President Trump Imposes New Import Bans and Modifies Tariffs on Canadian Products in Response to Retaliation

President Donald J. Trump has signed five Proclamations under Section 338 of the Tariff Act of 1930, implementing import bans on certain Canadian alcoholic beverages and dairy products. This action comes in response to Canada's increased discrimination against U.S. commerce, including new retaliatory tariffs on approximately $20 billion of U.S. exports. The President also modified previously announced tariffs from July 20, 2026, by removing some products and adding others, such as all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and additional dairy products.
