U.S. Treasury Department Imposes New Sanctions on Entities Aiding Hezbollah and Iranian Proxies

The U.S. Treasury Department announced new sanctions against firms and individuals in Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Turkey. These entities are accused of aiding Hezbollah and other Iranian proxies in the Middle East, specifically supporting Kata'ib Hezbollah, an Iraqi paramilitary group, and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent indicated that the department plans to sanction a large bank next week as part of ongoing efforts to counter support for the Iranian regime.
