Department of Justice Removes Alien Terrorist in First Use of United States Alien Terrorist Removal Court

The U.S. Department of Justice announced the removal of Nazira Haji Zada, an Afghan national, marking the first-ever case brought before the United States Alien Terrorist Removal Court (ATRC) since its establishment decades ago. Zada conceded she is an alien terrorist and supported a plot for an ISIS-inspired mass shooting. The ATRC issued an order of removal on August 20, unsealed today, following her return to her country of origin.
