President Trump Signs Bill Extending Disaster Tax Relief for Americans

President Trump signed the Doug LaMalfa Federal Disaster Tax Relief Certainty Act (H.R. 5366) into law. This bipartisan legislation extends more generous tax treatment for personal casualty losses incurred in federally declared disasters and excludes wildfire relief payments from taxable income, providing an estimated $408 million in tax relief over the next decade.
