FAA Announces $1.1 Billion Investment to Upgrade U.S. Airport Infrastructure and Enhance Safety
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced a $1.1 billion investment through the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Airport Improvement Program (AIP). The funding will provide 280 grants to airports across 46 states and three territories, focusing on upgrading critical infrastructure, adding family-friendly features, and installing Vehicle Movement Area Transmitters (VMATs) on airport vehicles to improve air traffic controller visibility on runways and taxiways.
