White House Reports Significant Drop in Crime in Memphis One Year After Launch of Federal Task Force

The White House announced that overall crime in Memphis has decreased by nearly 36% in the past year, with murders down 36% and motor vehicle thefts down 57%, following the establishment of the Memphis Safe Task Force by President Donald J. Trump a year ago. The task force, involving over 30 federal, state, and local agencies, has resulted in 12,747 arrests and the seizure of 2,160 illegal firearms. The city is reportedly on pace for a 25-year low in overall crime.
