Education and State Departments Launch Foreign Funding Investigations into Duke and University of North Dakota

The U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State have initiated foreign funding investigations into Duke University and the University of North Dakota. This follows reviews indicating incomplete, inaccurate, and untimely disclosures of foreign gifts and contracts, as required by Section 117 of the Higher Education Act. Both universities are research institutions receiving significant taxpayer support for critical technologies.
