ISIS-K Terrorist Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Role in Abbey Gate Attack

An Afghan national and member of ISIS-K, Mohammad Sharifullah, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for his participation in a nearly decade-long conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. Sharifullah's involvement contributed to the deaths of 13 U.S. servicemembers and dozens of others at Abbey Gate, and he participated in over a dozen ISIS-K attacks from 2016 through his apprehension in 2025.
