DOJ Charges CEO for Concealing Russian Ownership of Government Contractor
The U.S. Department of Justice announced the arrest and charging of a U.S. CEO and a Russian national CTO with conspiracy to commit wire fraud. The allegations state that the executives falsely certified to the Department of Defense that their digital forensics company, Oxygen Forensics Inc., had no foreign ownership and that its software was developed in the United States, when in fact five Russian nationals owned and controlled the company and its software was developed in Russia.
