Pentagon Initiates 'FORTRESS America' Program to Secure Domestic Military Infrastructure

The Pentagon's acquisition chief has initiated the process to establish the new "FORTRESS America Program Office," building on Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's announcement to protect the homeland. The program aims to secure domestic military assets and infrastructure against cyberattacks, sabotage, power grid failures, and foreign supply chain disruptions, including making military installations energy independent and hardening them against intrusions.
