President Trump Announces Diesel Deal with Russia; House Republicans Move to Block Russian Oil Purchases

President Donald Trump announced a deal with Russia for the supply of over 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the U.S. and global markets, with more to follow, aiming to lower prices for Americans. This move has drawn criticism and prompted House Republicans, led by Representative Brian Fitzpatrick, to prepare bipartisan legislation, the 'Ronald Reagan Peace Through Strength Act,' to block all purchases of Russian oil. Lawmakers warn that easing restrictions could help finance Moscow's war against Ukraine.
