Pentagon Raises Official Toll of Troops Killed in War with Iran to 21

The Pentagon has updated its official count of U.S. troops who have died in the Middle East during operations against Iran, raising the total to 21. This revised figure includes two additional noncombat deaths that were not previously reported in the Defense Casualty Analysis System (DCAS). The Washington Post had previously reported that the actual number of service members lost was higher than the publicly reported figures.
