DHS to Halt Pro-Trump Ads Funded by Taxpayers Following Lawsuits

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has informed a federal court it will stop purchasing taxpayer-funded advertisements promoting President Donald Trump. This decision follows three separate lawsuits alleging the campaign-style commercials, broadcast before the midterms, violated legal restrictions on government communications. DHS stated in a court filing that the ads would not continue past October 11 and that no further media buys are planned.
