Energy Department Allocates Defense Production Act Funding for Virginia and West Virginia Transmission Project

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced its intention to use Defense Production Act (DPA) funding to expedite the expansion of transmission capacity in Virginia and West Virginia. Up to $50 million will be allocated to Virginia Energy's Grid Enhancing Technologies project to deploy advanced transmission technologies, aiming to add an estimated 290 megawatts of capacity and strengthen grid reliability and national defense infrastructure.
