U.S. Intelligence Warns of Advanced Iranian Plots to Target American Officials Abroad

U.S. intelligence officials have issued a warning that Iran has significantly escalated its efforts to target American personnel overseas, with alleged plots to assassinate U.S. citizens reaching advanced stages in the Middle East and other regions. This warning was detailed in an October 23 memorandum from the Director of National Intelligence to the Secretary of State, leading to reduced staffing at several U.S. diplomatic missions.
