Pentagon Designates Chinese-Funded Confucius Institutes as National Security Threat

The U.S. Department of War (Pentagon) has officially designated Chinese-funded Confucius Institutes operating on American university campuses as a national security threat. Secretary of War Peter Hegseth stated that these institutes, which he described as 'Chinese government-backed propaganda cultural programs,' had re-emerged under different names after Congress previously banned them. The Pentagon has added these organizations to its list of institutions threatening national security and has been systematically dismantling them.
