EPA Releases Latest Motor Vehicle Emissions Model, MOVES6, Effective Today

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced the official release of MOVES6, its updated Motor Vehicle Emission Simulator model, effective October 27, 2026. This new version, which estimates emissions from various vehicles, will be required for State Implementation Plans (SIPs) and transportation conformity determinations in states outside California after a two-year grace period ending October 27, 2028.
