EPA Releases New MOVES6 Motor Vehicle Emissions Model for National Use

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has officially released MOVES6, the latest version of its MOtor Vehicle Emission Simulator model. This updated tool is now available for use in State Implementation Plans (SIPs) and transportation conformity analyses across states, excluding California. The announcement initiates a two-year grace period, after which MOVES6 will be a mandatory requirement for new transportation conformity analyses, impacting both regional emissions and hot-spot analyses.
