U.S. Transportation Secretary Announces $1.01 Billion Investment for Safer Roads Across All 50 States
U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean P. Duffy announced a $1.01 billion investment for 297 projects across all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and Tribal lands to enhance road safety. The funding targets critical improvements such as upgrading hazardous intersections, eliminating dangerous railroad crossings, expanding truck parking, and strengthening emergency response services. This initiative, part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) grant program, also includes $335 million for post-crash care and pre-hospital blood transfusion capabilities, building on efforts that saw traffic deaths fall to record lows in 2025.
