Democrats Projected to Win House Majority in 2026 Midterm Elections

CBS News estimates that House Democrats are on track to secure 256 seats, a significant increase from their current 214 seats, giving them control of the House of Representatives. The party flipped over two dozen Republican-held seats, including perennial swing districts and areas previously considered deep-red, ranging from suburban northeastern United States to parts of South Texas. Several House races, along with Senate races in Mississippi and Alaska, remain unresolved.
