Southern Plains and Southeast Face Critical Fire Weather; Western US to See Storm Activity

Gusty winds and dry conditions are forecast to create elevated to critical fire weather conditions across the Southern Plains and Southeast United States early this week. Separately, a Pacific storm system is expected to bring varied weather to the western US. This includes low elevation rain and heavy mountain snow for northern and central California, expanding to the Pacific Northwest, Great Basin, and southern California by Tuesday.
