Global Heatwave Strains Energy Grids, Especially in India

An unprecedented extreme heatwave is impacting vast regions of the Northern Hemisphere, including Europe, North America, and parts of Asia. This widespread heat is causing substantial increases in energy demand, notably in India, where electricity consumption reached a record peak due to extended cooling requirements. The World Meteorological Organization also predicts a high probability that one of the next five years will become the warmest on record.
