Gulf of Mexico System Monitored for Possible Tropical Development
The National Hurricane Center is tracking a low-pressure system currently over northeastern Mexico, which is expected to move into the northwestern Gulf of Mexico by midweek. While its chances of tropical formation are currently low, environmental conditions could become more favorable. Regardless of development, the system is anticipated to bring flash flooding and strong winds to parts of eastern and southern Texas and Louisiana.
