France Issues Alerts Ahead of Expected Extreme Heatwave

France is preparing for an intensifying heatwave, with temperatures projected to reach up to 40 degrees Celsius in some central and southwestern regions by the weekend. Approximately 40 departments are currently under a yellow alert as the country anticipates prolonged high temperatures, including "tropical nights" where temperatures remain above 20C. The heatwave is expected to persist potentially until the end of the month.
