Midwest braces for severe thunderstorms, including tornado and flash flood threats

The National Weather Service anticipates a significant outbreak of severe thunderstorms across Illinois and Indiana today. These storms carry a risk of intense tornadoes, damaging winds over 75 mph, and large hail. Additionally, torrential rainfall could lead to flash flooding in northern Illinois and northwest Indiana, with two rounds of storms possible.
