France Issues Widespread Heatwave and Thunderstorm Alerts

French authorities have placed 81 departments under various weather alerts, including 69 departments facing orange-level heatwave warnings. Temperatures could reach 39°C in central and eastern France, including the Paris region. Additionally, 21 departments are under thunderstorm alerts, primarily affecting northern and southern alpine areas. Elevated temperatures are expected to continue into Friday.
