Over 30 Large Wildfires Remain Uncontained Across the U.S., With Extreme Activity in Great Basin

The National Interagency Fire Center has reported 32 large uncontained wildfires currently burning across the United States, engaging over 6,200 personnel. Significant fire behavior, including rapid growth, was observed in the Great Basin region, with new fires also igniting in California. Forecasted thunderstorms with dry lightning and erratic winds in the Intermountain West are expected to heighten the risk of further ignitions and complicate containment efforts.
