High Fire Danger Declared for Portions of Utah, Arizona, and Nevada

An "Extremely Critical" fire-weather outlook has been issued for parts of Utah, Arizona, and Nevada for June 26, 2026, driven by strong winds and extremely low humidity. Broader areas across the Western U.S. are also under a "Critical" fire-weather designation. This alert comes as the National Interagency Fire Center reports numerous new fires and 37 uncontained large fires, including the Cottonwood Fire in Utah, which has led to evacuations.
