Extreme Heat and Severe Thunderstorm Warnings Issued for Germany

The Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) has issued warnings for strong to extreme heat stress across nearly all of Germany, with the heat's focus gradually shifting eastward. Additionally, severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall (up to 40 l/sqm in a short time, locally up to 50 l/sqm in an hour), hail (around 3 cm), and severe gale-force winds (up to 100 km/h) are expected, particularly in the eastern half of the country. New severe thunderstorms are forecast from the west and southwest tonight into Monday morning, potentially bringing multi-hour heavy rainfall (30-50 l/sqm, locally up to 70 l/sqm) and extreme heavy rainfall (over 60 l/sqm) in the east until Monday morning.
