US West Faces Elevated Wildfire Risk and Extreme Heat

The National Interagency Fire Center has raised the national preparedness level to Level 3 due to significant wildfire activity. Widespread Red Flag Warnings are in effect across the Southwest, with particular concern for explosive fire growth in southeastern Utah. Concurrently, dangerous and record-breaking heat is developing across the central and eastern United States.
