Environment Canada Issues Heat Wave Alerts for Southern Ontario and Quebec

Environment Canada has issued orange and yellow weather warnings for an intense and prolonged heat wave expected to blanket much of southern Ontario, including Toronto and Ottawa, and parts of eastern and southern Quebec. Maximum temperatures could reach 34-36°C (93-97°F), with humidex values around 40°C (104°F). The heat and humidity are forecast to continue through Friday and possibly into the weekend. Hot and humid air can also lead to deteriorating air quality, with the Air Quality Health Index potentially approaching the high-risk category.
