Environment Canada Issues Orange Alert for Intense Heatwave in Southern Ontario

An intense and prolonged heatwave is expected to affect much of southern Ontario, including the Quinte region, starting today, June 30, 2026, and continuing through Friday, possibly into the weekend. Maximum temperatures could reach 31-36 degrees Celsius, with humidex values around 40 degrees. Hot and humid air may also lead to deteriorating air quality.
