Western US Sees Increase in Wildfire Activity and Extreme Fire Behavior

The National Interagency Fire Center has reported 111 new wildfires nationwide, with 40 large fires currently active. Several blazes in Colorado and Utah are exhibiting extreme behavior, including one that expanded by 24,000 acres.
