Tropical Storm Maysak moved north into China's Guangxi region on Sunday, July 5, after making landfall in Vietnam. The storm, which weakened from severe tropical storm to tropical storm strength, brought heavy rains that caused rivers to overflow and submerged cars in Guangxi's Fangchenggang city. Separately, heavy rains in northern China's Inner Mongolia region and Liaoning province resulted in five deaths due to mountain flash floods and heavy rainstorms.
