Typhoon Maysak Weakens to Tropical Depression, Causing Flooding and Damage in Northeastern Vietnam

Following landfall on July 5, Typhoon No. 1 (Maysak) weakened into a tropical depression but continues to bring strong winds, heavy rainfall, and localized flooding across northeastern Vietnam, particularly Quảng Ninh Province. Authorities are on high alert for flash floods and landslides. The storm caused significant damage, including uprooted trees, blown-off roofs, and disruptions to transport and electricity in Móng Cái City. Rising water levels in the Ka Long River have also caused overflow.
