Southern Europe Grapples with Extensive Wildfires Amidst Another Scorching Heat Wave

Active wildfires are burning across multiple countries in southern Europe, including Croatia, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Turkey, having scorched over 20,000 hectares. Evacuation orders and alerts are in place in several affected countries. This widespread fire activity follows a record-breaking heatwave in June, with another wave of scorching temperatures expected, reaching up to 45°C in parts of Spain and 40°C in Italy and Portugal.
