France Issues Orange Heatwave Alert for Multiple Regions
Météo-France has activated an Orange heatwave vigilance for several departments, including Bouches-du-Rhône and Ain, effective from Wednesday 12h. This alert is due to anticyclonic conditions bringing a very hot air mass, with strong heat expected to spread across northern and eastern France. Authorities anticipate extending the orange vigilance to additional departments in the Grand-Est and Franche-Comté regions. High to very high forest fire danger is also noted for July 9, 2026, coinciding with the return of high temperatures.
