North America Experiences Extensive Wildfire Smoke and High Fire Risk

Large wildfires in the Southwestern U.S. are generating significant smoke plumes that are spreading northeast into the Midwest and Ontario, Canada. Concurrently, smoke from Canadian fires is moving southeast from the northeastern U.S. towards the Atlantic. The National Interagency Fire Center reports numerous new and uncontained fires, with elevated fire weather conditions persisting across several western U.S. regions due to hot, dry, and windy forecasts.
