Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for Much of Vancouver Island, Canada

Environment Canada has issued a yellow watch for severe thunderstorms for much of Vancouver Island, excluding the area from Courtenay to Victoria along the east coast, for Friday, July 17. Conditions are favorable for severe thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain, which has already led to localized flooding in Courtenay and multiple power outages.
