Germany Forecasts Thunderstorms, Strong Winds, and Heavy Rain in the Northeast

The Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) has issued a weather warning for Germany, forecasting stiff to stormy gusts in the North Sea area overnight into Wednesday, July 22, 2026, and during the day at the Baltic Sea. From Wednesday afternoon, isolated thunderstorms are possible in the northeast with stiff to stormy gusts up to 70 km/h (Bft 7-8) and small hail. Further thunderstorms are expected in the northeast during the night to Thursday, July 23, with similar strong gusts and potentially heavy rain of around 15 l/sqm/h, especially around the Baltic Sea.
