Fast-Moving Wildfire Burns 1,700 Hectares in Southern France, Forcing Evacuations

A fast-moving wildfire in the Var region of southern France has burned 1,700 hectares in just a few hours, leading to the evacuation of nearly 400 people. Firefighters battled the blaze overnight, which was fueled by very dry conditions and repeated heatwaves. Large parts of France have been on high alert for wildfires for weeks.
