UK Met Office Declares Red Weather Warning for Extreme Heat in Southern England, Midlands, and South Wales

The UK Met Office has issued a Red weather warning for extreme heat, effective from Thursday 21:00 British Standard Time, covering parts of southern England, the Midlands, and south Wales. This is the most severe level of alert, indicating a risk of serious illness or danger to life and potential transport delays. An Amber warning for heat is already in place for much of the rest of England and Wales. Temperatures are forecast to hit 37-38°C, with a possibility of 39°C. A Yellow heat health alert is also in force across parts of the UK from Friday to Sunday.
