Flash Flood Warning and Flood Watches Issued for North Georgia and Metro Atlanta
A serious storm is bringing heavy rain and flooding to North Georgia and metro Atlanta. The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Warning for parts of Cherokee, Dawson, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, and Hall counties until 4 p.m. Friday, with 1 to 2.5 inches of rain already fallen and up to 3 additional inches possible. Flood Warnings are also in effect for Big Creek near Alpharetta and Dick Creek at Old Atlanta Road near Suwanee. Flood Watches remain in place for numerous other counties across north Georgia through the evening, and a ground stop has been issued at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport.
