Canada Faces Widespread Heat Warnings and Wildfire Smoke Air Quality Alerts

Multiple regions across Canada are under heat warnings and air quality alerts. Environment Canada has issued a prolonged heat warning for Medicine Hat, Alberta, forecasting daytime highs between 33 and 36°C through the weekend and into next week, with little overnight relief. Similar heat warnings are in effect for Westman, where humidex values are expected to reach 38°C. Additionally, Yellow Air Quality Warnings have been issued for wildfire smoke in British Columbia (excluding Metro Vancouver) and southwestern Saskatchewan, with smoke concentrations expected to persist for at least 24 hours. Poor air quality warnings are also in place for Banff, Alberta, and surrounding areas due to wildfire smoke.
