Tropical Storm Genevieve Forms in Eastern Pacific, Expected to Rapidly Intensify

Tropical Depression Seven-E has strengthened into Tropical Storm Genevieve. Located about 585 miles (945 km) south of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, the storm has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph (75 km/h). Rapid intensification is forecast, with Genevieve expected to reach hurricane strength over the weekend. There are no coastal watches or warnings currently in effect.
