Typhoon No. 13 (Dolphin) Forecast to Intensify to Violent Storm, Posing Risk to Japan

Typhoon No. 13, named Dolphin, has rapidly strengthened over the Marshall Islands and is forecast to become a violent typhoon by July 30 or 31. It is moving west-northwest across the Pacific, with potential for dangerous waves to reach Japan in early August, particularly the Ogasawara and Izu islands, and Pacific coastal areas of eastern and western Japan. The typhoon could reach 'super typhoon' intensity with maximum sustained winds of 55 meters per second and gusts of 80 meters per second.
