Northeast US Faces Moderate Risk of Life-Threatening Flash Flooding

The Weather Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk (Level 3 of 4) for excessive rainfall across parts of the northeastern United States, including eastern New York, western Massachusetts, southern Vermont, and Connecticut. Repeated heavy rainfall is expected to cause significant and potentially life-threatening flash flooding, with hourly rates of 25-50 mm and local totals up to 100 mm.
