Extreme Heat Warning Issued for Southern California, Dangerous Surf Conditions Persist

The National Weather Service has issued an extreme heat warning for much of Southern California from Friday through Sunday, with temperatures potentially reaching 115-120 degrees in some areas, raising risks of heat illness and large wildfires. Concurrently, dangerous surf conditions, including high surf advisories and beach hazards statements, are in effect through Saturday due to a large south swell from Hurricane Genevieve, leading to potentially deadly rip currents and numerous ocean rescues.
