Hurricane Genevieve Weakening in Eastern Pacific, Life-Threatening Swells Persist

Hurricane Genevieve, located about 965 miles west of the southern tip of Baja California, is weakening but still maintaining hurricane-force winds of 75 mph. It is moving west-northwest at 15 mph and is expected to weaken to a tropical storm later today and become a remnant low by late weekend. Swells generated by Genevieve are affecting portions of the Baja California Peninsula and Southern California, posing a risk of life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
