Severe thunderstorms with hail, heavy rain, and hurricane-force gusts expected across Germany amidst ongoing heatwave.
An explosive weather situation is developing in Germany. While temperatures in the southeast are rising to almost 40 degrees Celsius, a new thunderstorm front is approaching. The Deutscher Wetterdienst (DWD) warns of heavy rain, hail, and severe gale-force winds, with isolated hurricane-force gusts up to 120 km/h, particularly in a broad strip between Saar and Neiße. This comes as a third heatwave of the year sees temperatures widely between 30 and 37 degrees Celsius in the center and south.
